If you're in a great show it's super fun, but actors are all expected to do set changes because they don't hire a run crew. There isn't a real "stage manager" to call the shows which I always found odd. Housing and pay are okay (much better if you're a lead). To make enough money to make it worth it you need to do the kid's show too which means you're working up to 13 shows a week. The kid's show can be more fun than the main show though! The free food is nice. You really need to bring a car, and they do make you bring your own bedding (which I've also never experienced). Costumes/wig department is amazing and I see them as the highlight of the contract. I made some great friends here and highly recommend it to younger performers. (edited)

Pretty standard crappy non eq theater. Bad housing & pay. Just join equity so we can put people like this out of business. (edited)

Housing is ATROCIOUS. https://www.reddit.com/r/TheatreShitTalk/s/kjOxnSDJtf See here. I would advise anyone who isn’t in college or in their first year out to steer clear.

Overall working for this company is great! The leadership for this company really cares for its employees and goes the extra mile to make sure people are fealing comfortable. They never ask for actors to do anything but rehearse and perform, with the occasional publicity appointments for leads to help advertise the show. Which is completely normal. The pay was great for the non-union circuit. I wouldn't recommend working FOH as a server, busser, or host since the restaurant side is a bit toxic. But if you can easily ignore that, then it's a decent extra bit of cash, but very exhausting if you have to serve on one of the double show days. Housing isn't the best. For bigger shows nearly everyone is doubling up in troops. Cast house is big with only a couple restrooms, I did hear they are planning on getting another one installed in the basement eventually. Small kitchen for the amount of people there. Can feel a bit hectic since it fits about 10 people there. The condos are a bit quieter due to less people but aren't very sound proof for walls. So you can hear everything. All housing options have a bit of a mildew scent. I would work for them again though. Since they do offer great pay, fair travel stipend, very full audiences. Most show done here sellout. Great team running all elements of the performance. Special shout out to the amazing costume and wig department.

Great for young performers to get started in the business. They do fun shows and use people over and over if you want to keep working there. In my experience, there's no room for growth. The Artistic Producer will gaslight you while also never returning your emails. The condos need a touch up, and the house should be condemned. The pay is extremely low for the amount of money they rake in from their two theatres plus the tours. Advocate for yourself, do not let this company use you for $350 a week. You can make extra money doing the kid's show, but decide if doing up to 13 shows a week is worth it to you (not sure what the schedules are like now, but people did literally 13 shows in one week once). Lancaster is small, a little boring, but it's a cute downtown area. All this to say I will never work for them again after the last experience I had there, but if you're looking to build your resume, this is an okay place to start. Be warned: their dance calls are UNNECESSARILY hard. I've asked repeatedly why they decide to make the dance calls harder than the actual show choreo, and they don't care. You'll be called in for Les Mis and have to do a dance call. It's insane, their auditions used to be horribly run so I hope they got somewhat better.

Great theatre and company to build your resume with. Get those credits with those shows you've always wanted to do. They are faithful to the people who are capable and who want to continue coming back. The cast housing however is just....yeah, I never wanna do that again. Living in a house with 12 other people with only TWO bathrooms, one kitchen was a NIGHTMARE. I lived in the basement....the walls were all makeshift, the ceilings you could hear everything. Request to live in the condos, however...those are usually designated for the leads of shows. So good luck. You get one car to get you around. Lancaster issss relatively boring. BUT, the team is very nice. Very kind. The backstage area is tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny. You can make It a good time. Pay is low as well. Pretty decent, chill, reputable non-equity house.

Low pay and unclean housing. Make sure that when you are offered a contract you ask to be in the condos and not the company house! Don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself, and negotiate up! As stated, very loyal company if you want to keep working for them.

Idk how the pay is now, but it was definitely low when I was there. Had a fun time and the shows were good quality. Housing was so so. If they like you they’ll hire you again and again which is amazing! Great way to build your resume if you’re just starting out.
