Wick Theatre
- Performer, within last year
If I could leave negative stars, I would. From the top down, this place is a chaotic, dysfunctional mess, and the working conditions are so incredibly stressful because management has no clue what they are doing and then frequently lashes out at the actors. I have never felt so disrespected as I did working at The Wick. They have countless Equity violations racked up and I'm truly baffled that they are still able to maintain their union status.... Please don't work here if you care about your mental, emotional, and physical well being. The production quality isn't even that good either, despite how it might look in photos online. Stay far away!! Also just going to leave this link here because many of the things mentioned in the threads on the old Gig & Tell are things that happened to our cast as well: https://web.archive.org/web/20190318100208/http://auditionupdate.com/index.php?s=4&v=556 (edited)

Was here last year and ngl it was tough. The facility is great. Producers generous with gifts and meals. The organization isnt structured to support a good process yet though. Needs an artistic director with industry know-how, production manager, technical director, company manager. Until then productions gonna be chaos.

Venue is beautiful, but management is awful. So much yelling and treating staff horribly. Incredibly toxic environment and pretty much no production value. Stage management yells and has anger issues too. Management would rather try to buy your affection with gifts than put anything towards their shows. Everything is last minute and it never seems to be management's fault. Do not work here. There are much better companies nearby. (edited)

Do not work here if you are a plus size person. Producer told me to get a gastric bypass surgery even though they hired me in person at the same size. Good facility and pretty looking productions. Used to hire a lot of Broadway actors but they don’t do that as much. Will try to nickle and dime non union performers, when they pay others Broadway minimum. Accept contracts with caution.
