I was an intern before the intern program was cut. Overall, this was a lovely and transformative experience. I got to perform three shows in rep to some of the most lovely community members all of the tristate area. I learned a ton about myself and about performing. Only issue was the AD. Near the beginning of the contract, he pulled our intern company into a meeting and told us “you are all replaceable” after complaints that we weren’t working hard enough. Be that as it may, most of us were early career and it was a horrible thing to say to young people. I’ve also heard stories from the equity folks at this theatre that he has a history of a temper in the rehearsal room. Hoping he’s gotten better since.
