I had a good time this summer with McLeod, did two shows. The acting company is made up of mainly college students who attend the university that the company is housed in/uses the facilities of- and the faculty is made up of professors at the university as well. Really good production quality and I met some wonderful people. Housing for out-of-town is the campus dorms, not terrible but not great. The town is pretty boring and very small, but we managed to find some fun nature-y things to do on our off time. There were some issues with stage management's organization and with a member of the creative team for one of the shows- so much so that the show didn't really come together until final dress, which was stressful. Like many other summer stock gigs, the pay is laughable and I definitely wouldn't be able to another summer here if they paid the same- which is sad because I really did have a good time overall. Definitely better than some of the SS horror stories I have heard. If they offer a role that is great for you- I say go for it.
