Peterborough Players
- Intern
It was my first time auditioning for summer stock so I didn't expect waiting soooo long for a response from anyone, but I did from Peterborough. The AD is funny, kind, and very talented. He has a welcoming attitude from the get-go and it showed throughout the whole summer. As soon as I got there, everyone was really nice and friendly. It was an honor to be a part of a group like the 2nd co. The equity actors were kinda, all the admin, and shop heads supported you. It is a very busy schedule, but there is enough time for eating and getting breaks. Most days you wake up at 9a and end the day at 5p. But then when it's changeover you start the day at 8a until 12a. It sounds rough and it is tiring, but those were the days we loved the most because we had fun doing it. Acting interns are required to move around in the different shops they had and that was a great learning experience. It gave me a better appreciation for theater and the amount of work that's put into it. NH is very white and most of the people who work at the theater are white so it'll be intimidating for POC, but everyone is very welcoming and friendly. The 2nd co had many complaints about wanting more time mostly when we had our intern show and they listened and where able to give us that time. The management at the time was not the best but also wasn't the worst. There's new management so that could change. Overall, I would love to work here again and I met some of the nicest people.
