Overall I loved the production I was in because of the creative team. But the artistic director is absolutely insane. She was often seen yelling at the creative team and belittling them in an attempt to get her way. She funded the production and starred in it and constantly made herself seem like she was better than everyone else as if she was the only one who mattered. She consistently made changes before performances and made the show all about her. I would work with the creative team again, but not as long as she’s the artistic director. Not to mention, she funded the production, but none of the ensemble was paid for their time and work. Even though auditions advertised this as an equity, paid, production.

Seven Angels was one of my first professional shows. I loved my experience, but there are some minor drawbacks. It does a little community-theatrey at times and the pay was wayyy low, especially for the rehearsal hours. However I must admit I was a newbie and did not know how to negotiate/get the most out of my "value". The staff are all super kind and it was a great experience, formative. They get bonafide Broadway veterans in their shows and sharing the room with them was absolutely invaluable. Why this review is 3 stars is because certain technical areas were devalued/outright neglected. For the entire run of the show, our sound was all over the place. Feedback, mics not on, hot mics. It did not read as a professional show and turned audience members off from what they told me. Additionally, the costume team was one person, who was super lovely and talented, but was not present at every show and did not have a costume team, so if a costume ripped/malfunctioned... we were going to be out-of-luck. The housing is nice, just in a tougher area, but there were no safety issues as far as I know. I would work here again and I encourage others too as well, just don't expect the most professional/high-octane operation you've ever seen.
