Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre

I loved working here. One of my first professional theater experiences, and I would absolutely recommend it. Jeremy Scott Blaustein is a gem of a man and cares deeply about his work (artistic directing multiple shows per summer), and Elizabeth Albert (Managing Director) is extremely hard-working and the backbone of the whole operation. The included dorm-style housing is nice, although you have to share a kitchen with the rest of the cast/crew. Plenty of food options in Winchester. They hire many college-age performers. They've brought in some Broadway vets over the years who are quite a privilege to work with. GETS HOT AND HUMID. Pay is fine! As a non-union actor, I would work there again.

A wonderful summer gig for younger performers! A beautiful, state of the art theater, with a full orchestra pit and fly system - excellent tech capabilities. The quality of shows varies from director/show to director/show, but for a tiny town (Winchester, VA) in the middle of the mountains, it's the best you'll find. I performed in a show only once there, but it was one of the best summers of my life, and I truly had a fantastic time. Jeremy Blaustein, the artistic director, is a gem of a human being, and exceptionally kind, hard-working, and gracious.
