Short North Stage

Had a really fun time! Was sort of disapointed in how the concept played out, but overall the process was great and housing was fine (although I think it's different for everyone)

SNS is a lovely place to work - they put on amazing seasons and produce super high-quality shows. The company manager is an angel on earth. Non-union pay needs to be improved for this to be a more equitable place to work. The theatre is an old building which comes with its quirks, like not-ideal dressing rooms, and having to go outside to access the backstage. The theatre follows Equity protocols because of the mixed-union casts and the rehearsal schedule is respectful and sustainable. A great team of leadership, musicians, and actors. I would work here again and again!

Great company to work for as an out of towner! The only downside is the need to walk through the parking lot to the stage door but housing is pretty nice and they commit to hiring good people. Rehearsals are at night which can be great or can be annoying (depending on how you prefer to live). Best company management ever. I'd go back again and again! (edited)

I’ve worked here a couple of times as an out-of-towner, and love it. I find the housing to be charming. The neighborhood is bustling and vibrant. Since the theatre is under a mile away from housing, per AEA rules a car doesn’t need to be provided.

Very good quality shows and nice people. The housing is not great, there is no company car, and you have to walk outside to get from the dressing area to the stage. It's not their fault, but that does suck if it rains or it's hot out during a show.
