I did great shows here with some fabulous people. But the rehearsal schedule is awful (we didn't get paid for rehearsals when I was there). It's WAY too long. Five shows a week is not bad, the shows are usually good ones, but the quality just seems... so amateur and cheap. I'm glad they finally offer a little bit of housing, I'm not sure about transportation (I was told to find my own way to rehearsals once... as an out of town actor with no car). The pay is atrocious. Do actors wait tables anymore? I did for the shows I did there and made bank, but that was from serving and NOT the $35 per show I was making. Places like this that make money from tickets PLUS food service paying their actors shit need to go out of business forever. Always felt a little unsafe, and one of the directors/choreos I worked with was a total predator. They were fired once and then hired back, and their behavior did not change. VERY unsafe.

You will meet some incredible people. They do good with their show choices for the region, but those are the only two things that could be said in a positive way about this theater. You will go broke working for this company. Not only do they pay some of the lowest weekly pay rate in show, but you will lose pay for even an emergency callout due to injury or illness. It could be dangerous for you to perform, and you would still lose your pay. You could have doctor documentation, and you will lose your pay. So the lesson I suppose is, go to work sick. And with 8 week runs, any out of town talent would surely be breaking the bank to do a contract here. Pray that you never have to dance on the dangerous stage full of trippable Tetris pieces of wood screwed together and ankle twisting slip spots. The lack of capable stage and company management is astounding as well as the utterly terrible communication. This company obviously doesn’t care about the performer. Not even worth the resume credit.

Decent non-union pay. Solid housing. Great culture amongst the theatre between locals, non union performers brought in, and equity contracted actors! Rehearsals are paid by a stipend and then paid a weekly salary for the two month run. Amazing experience with great quality shows and talent. Also great to get used to 8 week runs of shows and usually only 5 shows a week. Would reccomend!
