Carowinds

I had a great time as a short-term guest artist for the summer. They treated us well (pay was shockingly good) and put us up in a nice hotel. I don't think that's the norm but we had a great time. The parade is hard and I'll never do one again if I can help it, and costuming wasn't handled super well. It's annoying that they make you perform in the heat up to 105 degrees. Riding roller coasters after work was so much fun and I made great friends.

The absolute worst place I have ever worked! I have been apart of my industry for over 29 years do to COVID I ended up at Carowinds, the leaders were narcissistic and would threaten you with your job. All over things you had absolutely no control over, they had favorites that would completely ruin something then turn around and make it your fault when you absolutely nothing to do with it. The pay was offensive for the amount of work you every day, you did nothing but picking up after the people above you who didn't want to do their jobs which caused you to be so busy picking up after them you couldn't do your own job, you would get in trouble and called worthless or incompetent for not being a being a miracle worker, they would give 3 days notice to do something that would actually take weeks with ordering shipping all of that. Every bit out of your control because you have -$45 to work with so you couldn't pay for extra shipping absolutely zero information on what you needed to make happen you were just supposed to know but that didn't matter because you weren't aloud to order your own supplies, you never had what you needed to do anything much less your job. It was your fault and no one else's even though there are 45 people you have to go through to do anything. So you rush everything then send it in and wait then they forget about or never do it or find it not needed so when it doesn't happen it's all on you. It was your fault you couldn't pull it out of no where while running a full department that was getting left in the dust because you had no ability to do your job because you had no idea what your were doing and we're given nothing to make it happen and to busy picking up after your supervisors. The people running the department had absolutely no ability to run anything, in my last month I was there 8 people quit out of a team of 12 maybe 13 people. A supervisor who had absolutely nothing to do with any of the people who left was blamed for all of it being their fault, they were demoted for no reason just to put blame one anyone but themselves. HR was contacted about the situation but nothing would ever be done because guess who was best friends with the person over HR haha them. The whole team that left was replaced by people from other parks that all happen to be friends of the person in charge and their best friend who just happen to take over the corporate position for our department, ooooh how things "just happen to work out for those people". 100 out of 10 would absolutely never recommend! RUN RUN RUN as far as you can, you will hate your life, live jn a constant fear with unlimited anxiety and stress all wich you have zero control over.

Management is absolutely awful. Higher ups will use you as a scape goat for their own mistakes and short comings. You will also be the one doing everything as well as your job. I've had to take tickets with no instructions, which made lines longer and working even more stressful. There is no oportunity for growth and no matter how long you're there you'll never get a raise. Going seasonal to part-time is like a demotions, because you get less hours and the benefits take away almost half your pay if you even decide to sign up for them.
