I have been performing professionally at regional theaters all across the U.S. for 10+ years, and believe me when I say this was a horrid experience. Performers aren’t just sharing a room, they all piled in bunkbeds in living rooms of run down apartments. The backstage is an office building and the AD does not care about you as an individual. There was an issue with a performer there threatening other actors in the housing. When the AD was contacted about it directly, she would just surprise attack the performers with private meetings forcing them to be with the same threatening actor, and would only side with him. Was a very toxic environment where the cast had to band together more than once to group write letters and statements to the AD because she would not listen to her actors.
