Ownership is anti-vax. Do yourself a favor and don’t come to Mississippi. Everything you have heard is true and worse than it’s portrayed in media.

Most egregious contract and casting process I have ever read/seen. Stipulations such as "if you are the type to test for Covid/Flu, your beliefs do not align with ours" and being asked to perform with "minor injuries" or risking termination. Almost zero people of color hired for the current summer season. Reports of a previous employee of color terminated for needing protective hairstyling. Reports of producers inviting actors up to their personal hotel rooms. Extremely hazardous...for many reasons. Run screaming from this place.

The theater is beautiful but the production company itself is kind of a mess. The stage manager was a bit clueless and wasted a lot of people’s time in the rehearsal process, the producer kept referring to himself as a gay man in a straight man’s body, it’s evident they only hire pretty people regardless of if they can hold a pitch/dance, and it took us almost four weeks to just finish blocking the show.

TONS of potential here. The pay is average for non-equity, but you're housed in the hotel and granted three meals a day at the EDR which is a HUGE win. Feels similar to working on a cruise ship. Their facilities are state of the art. They're still navigating the world of book musicals (since they typically produce review shows) which is the only reason I'm giving this 4 stars. Overall a wonderful experience - very kind, generous team.
